Transport
FROM PRAGUE AIRPORT
- BUS: The Student Agency (RegioJet) buses leave directly from Prague’s Vaclav Havel airport (you will have to transfer at the main bus station Florenc in Prague, but one ticket is valid for the whole journey to Brno by both companies). Flixbus and other companies operate buses from the bus station Florenc. Regiojet and Flixbus will drop you off at the Grand Hotel bus station in Brno which is at the city center.
- TRAIN: To get to Brno by train, you will first need to get to Prague’s main railway station – you can go by Airport Express, by public transport or ask for directions at the airport. You can buy your ticket online on the website of the České dráhy company, of the Regiojet Company, or at the train station. You will arrive at the central train station - Hlavní nádraží.
FROM VIENNA AIRPORT
- BUS: Student Agency, Gepard Express and Flixbus operate direct buses from Vienna’s Schwechat airport and all stop at the Grand Hotel bus station in Brno.
- TRAIN: You can also travel from Vienna airport by train—there is a railway station within the arrivals hall. The first option is to go by direct train from the airport to Brno. You can check the schedule and buy a ticket online here. The second option is to change trains at Wien Hauptbahnhof (the main station) or in Břeclav. In that case, please check this page, where you can also buy tickets online. You will arrive at the central train station - Hlavní nádraží.
FROM BRNO AIRPORT
- BUS: From Brno Airport you can travel by taxi or public transport. Public transport – bus E76 (every 30 minutes) or N89 (at night). Both will take you to the “Hlavní nádraží” stop. You can check bus IDOS (timetables online public transport) or you can use application IDOS at your store as a website.
FROM TRAIN/BUS STATION TO THE VENUE
- Main train station and Grand hotel bus station are next to each other and in front of the trains station there are several tram stops. You can find connection by IDOS. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics of Masaryk University Brno is just 5 minutes walk from the tram stop Konečného náměstí.
HOW TO PAY FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT (BRNO)
- If you will be travelling often, we recommend to use a 5 day travel pass for 250 CZK or 3 x 1day ticket (3 x 90 CZK) (see the pricelist - only in Czech). This travel pass can be bought at the Main train station (Hlavní nádraží) as a paper ticket that you keep with you
- In case you will travel not every day, the easiest way to pay is using your contactless credit/debit card in the buses or trams.
